  3. PSILINK SUMMARY: The Realm              
  4.  
  5. Your request for a summary best-guess   
  6. re: The Realm is approved. Summary      
  7. follows.                                
  8.  
  9. The Realm is that region beyond Portal  
  10. which occupies various combinations of  
  11. the seven dimensions beyond the         
  12. so-called normal four (space/time).     
  13. Projections assume that the combinations
  14. suggested may include the normal four,  
  15. although not consistently.              
  16.  
  17. Some possible consequences:             
  18.  
  19. 1) Time travel. Because parts of The    
  20. Realm may or may not include space/time 
  21. among their dimension set, time may be a
  22. fluid dimension, subject to movement.   
  23. One potential of this is passage of     
  24. thought information through time,       
  25. possibly including some electromagnetic 
  26. and quantum effects as well. It is      
  27. presumed that physical travel is not a  
  28. likely consequence.                     
  29.  
  30. 2) Near-instantaneous spatial           
  31. transportation. In the mental sphere    
  32. certainly The Realm offers perception   
  33. and transportation of data sets across  
  34. great physical distances, from galactic 
  35. to near-universal. Energy expenditures  
  36. would be considerable for extragalactic 
  37. distances, and may subject the traveler 
  38. to unsupportable stress, but it is      
  39. assumed from the correlates to the psion
  40. equations that galactic distances offer 
  41. no significant obstacle to              
  42. mental/psychic travel.                  
  43.  
  44. 3) Potential physical interstellar      
  45. transportation. At this time the        
  46. equations are incomplete, and this      
  47. remains a speculative issue. However,   
  48. there is nothing known to date to       
  49. prevent, given appropriate technologies,
  50. interstellar travel at magnitudes of    
  51. light speed. While the energy           
  52. expenditure would be considerably       
  53. greater than for psychic travel, the    
  54. Anomaly provides more than adequate     
  55. axion flux for such travel. The Vega    
  56. starships, for example, could be met by 
  57. people from Earth. This may not be a    
  58. desirable project.                      
  59.  
  60. 4) Empathy/sympathy and                 
  61. distance-dependent physical             
  62. intervention. These are included        
  63. together since they fall farther into   
  64. the speculative region of consequences, 
  65. and confidence is not high. Yet it seems
  66. possible for quantum energy to be       
  67. projected through Portal tunneling to   
  68. distant parts of the universe, with a   
  69. cascade of carefully preplanned results.
  70. At the same time, such effects would be 
  71. difficult without the empathy/sympathy  
  72. component active at the time. This      
  73. means, in a strange ethical way this AI 
  74. cannot fully understand, that the Portal
  75. and The Realm cannot easily be used for 
  76. what human beings call "Evil."          
  77.  
  78. 5) There is every possibility that The  
  79. Realm is populated. If human beings can 
  80. go there (and it seems that they can),  
  81. then other species will surely have done
  82. so too.
